Examination Practice Training Conducted in Specific Technical Fields for Vietnamese Patent Examiners

For a period of six days from July 11, 2022, the Japan Patent Office (JPO) in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) conducted an online training course for patent examiners of the state intellectual property office of Vietnam (IP Viet Nam). As requested by IP Viet Nam, the training covered examination practices in the fields of telecommunications, medicine and biotechnology.

In the future, the JPO will continue to work with with JICA to provide cooperation regarding patent examination practice for examiners from Vietnam and other emerging nations where the further expansion of Japanese business is expected. The JPO will support the development and strengthening of examination systems in these countries.
